New Services to Malta and Libya
“The Captain has just announced some exciting news regarding our services to Malta and Libya and he has asked us to let you know ….
Over the last year or so, the team here have been managing an over-land trailer service to Malta running in conjunction with our ocean freight consolidation service.
Our decision to launch a trailer service to Malta was taken following the decision by a number of leading Shipping Lines to change the rotation of their services to Malta which effectively, and overnight, increased the transit time to Malta from 5 days to 13 days from the U.K. The trailer service has proven to be a success and we now manage weekly departures from Ireland, the U.K. and Europe to Malta.
We now feel that the timing is right to launch a trailer service to Libya, via Malta, which will again allow us to reduce the over all transit time to Libya from 18 days to just 12 days. We will continue to operate a container service to Libya which will continue to represent a cost effective solution on this trade lane. Please speak to a member of the team to obtain further information regarding our Malta and Libya express trailer services”

Officially the U.K.’s leading import consolidator
It’s official. Cardinal Maritime is now the country’s leading import consolidator. Our current volumes now exceed more than 300teu per month which is vastly more than the recorded 278teu of our closest competitor (figures taken from HMGOV UK port statistics, average over period ’07). We believe this growth is a direct result of our total commitment to customer service which we passionately believe sets us apart from much of other industry competitors. We also believe that we now have one of the strongest agency networks in the consolidation industry and we would like to thank you for your dedication and support in helping position our brand as the market leader.

New Felixstowe ICD opens for business
We are delighted to announce some exciting news regarding our new Felixstowe ICD. Our new facility, which opened its doors for business in March, is now fully operational and is currently handling all of our import consolidations coming into the port of Felixstowe.
Unlike our competitors, we felt it important to bring this important function ‘in-house’ rather than use the port authorities and outside contracted warehouse providers to manage this process for us. This is a great selling tool for you and us and we are proud that The Captain pushed through this necessary investment in our infrastructure. We are already beginning to see the benefits of new facility and we are currently meeting all our Key Performance targets.
Southampton to follow soon!

More U.K. receiving and handling depots than any other U.K. carrier!
Many of you will be aware that our internal network of receiving and handling facilities now numbers more than ten across the U.K. This is vastly more than any other consolidator in the U.K. and represents our desire to offer a comprehensive package of services, delivered at a local level, to all of our clients and you, our global partners. The Captain’s view on this is that we should be perceived as a service provider which is able to offer services to and from “All over the world, from just around the corner”.
