As most will be aware, westbound FCL rates have began to rise in earnest with the potential to keep going! We have been negotiating firmly with our network agents and suppliers and we will try to mitigate these costs wherever possible. In fact while the increases slowly begin to filter down you may even be surprised to find shipping lcl becomes more cost effective for larger shipments than if sent as FCL. Further to the article in the last brochure about the true cost difference between CIF Vs FOB. The intense competition for prepaid freight in China has continued to increase the local incentives, which has in turned increased prepaid UK charges even further. Please try and persuade your customers to change their terms to FOB and start saving money straight away. Unfortunately we don’t expect this trend to be reversed.
