We’re proud to announce our new direct import service from Australia, in conjunction with our newly appointed Australian agent. The service runs direct every fortnight from Melbourne to Tilbury with a transit time of 43 days.

Cardinal staff to visit the Bambisanani Partnership

As part of our ongoing support of the Bambisanani Partnership, Cardinal will be accompanying the pupils of St Mary’s visiting Mnyakayna School in South Africa in July. The Bambisanani Partnership is a unique initiative developed by St. Mary’s School, Menston and Mnyakayna School in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa. The partnership has gained international acclaim for its work using sport as a catalyst to develop international understanding, education, health and leadership.

One of the cornerstones of the Cardinal ethos is a strong commitment to social and corporate responsibility. We’ve been involved with the Bambisanani Partnership for a number of years now, shipping much needed equipment to Mnyakanya School at no cost and providing financial support to the project. As well as providing equipment, the partnership involves exchange visits between the two schools and provides funding support for AIDS orphans in Kwa Zulu Natal. The project is one of a number supported by the Cardinal Trust, and was chosen due to our strong links with South Africa. We look forward to reporting back from the trip with news and photos from Mnyakanya.

Great new services to the Middle East and Indian Sub-continent

We’ve got a whole range of new and improved LCL services to the Middle East and Indian Sub-continent! All rates to the Indian Sub-continent have been reduced to $10.00 w/m, and we’re now offering weekly direct sailings to Chennai (25 days transit) and Nhava Sheva (26 days transit).

On top of this, we’re proud to announce a brand new service to Umm Qasr, Iraq, via Dubai. This is a weekly service with a transit of 30 days. Cardinal Maritime awarded NVOCC of the Year 2011!

The 2011 IFW Awards marked the 15th anniversary of this prestigious event. NVOCC of the Year was a new category for 2011, and Cardinal Maritime beat the competition to win the award in its inaugural year. The winners were announced on 23rd November 2011 at Planit Embankment Gardens in Central London, with Brand CEO Andrew Smithurst and Brand MD Rick White on hand to collect the award.

Our commitment to honest, transparent business practice and pricing, partnered with a suite of innovative online tools including the FREIGHTcalculator^TM and our freight tracking service, have ensured a growing base of loyal customers and sustained annual growth in uncertain economic times. Cardinal Group win regional HSBC Business Thinking!

On 24th November the North West finalists for the HSBC Business Thinking Award gathered at the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral for the ceremony to name the regional winner to go through to the national finals and once again Cardinal Group came out on top, scooping the award in the face of stiff competition from a selection of the best businesses across the North West.

The awards are aimed at identifying the brightest and most forward-thinking businesses across the UK, with the national finalists in the running to receive up to £6 million in lending from HSBC.

We’d like to take this opportunity to remind you to book with as much notice as possible for December to take account of the inevitable impact the holiday season will have on export vessel close-offs and the haulage network across the UK for both export collections and import deliveries. Furthermore, the Christmas opening hours for our various depots are as follows. There will be some regional variations so please check with your local depot if your cut-off is particularly close to the line.
