Our Basildon Key Account Managers are getting sporty over the next two months! Chris Lovell is taking part in a Pro Kickboxing fight on 18th March at the Circus Tavern. Chris is a Middleweight and has a Pro record of 2 wins and 2 loses. He will be raising money for The Wellspring, a resource centre for homeless & disadvantaged people that The Cardinal Trust supports.
Lynsey Armitage will be playing netball for Team Northumbria in the Netball Super League which will be televised on Sky Sports on 8th & 22nd February and 14th March. You might spot the team using our Cardinal Maritime water bottles!
We’ve had some great photos tweeted for this competition and it’s safe to say The Captain has had a busy month! We’ve seen him out on his bike, dressed up as a snowman, having a swim, with the England Netball vice-captain, taking a tour of football grounds, relaxing on an Emirates flight and even dancing on a carnival float!
The competition is open until 16th February so keep tweeting your photos to @cardinalcaptain for a chance to win £500 of Love2Shop High Street gift-vouchers. If you haven’t got a mask, contact your account manager and we’ll send you one. The winner will be announced in the March brochure. We look forward to seeing your photos!
Did you receive your copy of the latest book about The Captain’s adventures? The Captain and the Land of the Pharaohs was sent out with the January brochure and follows The Captain and his crew: Emma, Pierre, Iris along with Simon on their travels to Egypt. It’s the second book in the series and we think you’re going to enjoy it!
If you would like another copy of this book or a copy of the first book in the series, The Captain and the Tiger Cubs, please contact your account manager and we’ll get them sent to you.
On Saturday 16th January 2016, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that Iran had performed its obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with respect to its nuclear programme.
As a result of this announcement, the US and EU were obliged by the JCPOA to lift many of the economic and financial sanctions which had closed international markets to Iranian business and trade.
As a result of this, we are now once again importing and exporting to Iran. For more information contact the commercial team on 0845 077 4060 or email email@example.com.
We’ve made some fantastic rate reductions on our import services from Asia! Our services from Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore as well as Vietnam & Philippines all benefit from these reductions so contact the commercial team today to benefit from our reduced rates.

We delivered a load of rucksacks to The Wellspring this weekend, taking part in their Rucksack Project.
The Wellspring put out a call for donations of rucksacks filled with essentials including a sleeping bag, hat, scarf, flask, fleece, toothbrush etc. to be distributed to homeless and rough sleepers in Stockport.
Team Cardinal jumped at the chance to support a charity that’s close to our hearts, with our very own Charlie McGonagle delivering the rucksacks the day after our Christmas Party! For more information about The Wellspring, click here.
Last week we visited the team at TACT Fostering & Adoption in Liverpool to donate a brand new Nintendo Wii U console and some games to the centre.
TACT is the UK’s largest charity and voluntary agency providing fostering and adoption services. Their core work involves providing high quality and well supported fostering or adoptive families for children and young people in the care of local authorities. Working in partnership with local authorities from across England, Wales and Scotland, they are dedicated to providing creative, effective and outcome-focused services. They also campaign on behalf of children and young people in care, carers and adoptive families. To find out more about TACT, click here.
The team at the centre were extremely appreciative of our donation which will be used by children that are going through either the fostering or adoption process.
Here at Cardinal we have a long affiliation with Malta, as this was
our inaugural service 17 years ago when our fairy-tale began. We
provide a weekly service, loading every Wednesday with a very
short transit time of only 5 days. You won’t get a faster service!
Along with our partners World Express Logistics we can offer a complete door to door solution and we’re confident that we won’t be beaten on price. We recently visited our partner World Express Logistics to discuss our plans to expand this service in the coming months.

Cardinal Maritime Group were delighted to sponsor the Rising Star Award at The Prince’s Trust Celebrate Success Awards last night.
The event took place at St George’s Hall in Liverpool and brought together supporters, staff, volunteers, Trust-supported young people and other members of The Prince’s Trust community.
The Rising Star Award recognises young people who despite having faced substantial personal obstacles are in sustainable employment as a result of a Prince’s Trust programme.
Ryan Smith won the award having overcome bullying, caring for his disabled father and developing anger issues when he could no longer cope. His anxiety affected his confidence and health but The Prince’s Trust Team programme helped Ryan find his strengths and let his confidence follow. Ryan now works as a cameraman for a local housing association.
Ryan was delighted to win the award which was presented by our Financial Director Liam McGonagle.
